His postgraduate training includes his residency training in oral maxillofacial surgery conducted at the Washington DC VA Medical Center and the District of Columbia General Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Singer served as chief resident in his last year. Prior to enrolling in dental school, Alan H. Singer, DDS, completed his undergraduate education at Brooklyn College in 1976. A past president of the District of Columbia Dental Society, Dr. Singer has served as a delegate to the American Dental Association for 14 years. Moreover, he has acted as liaison to Howard University College of Dentistry and the District of Columbia Elementary Schools for Give Kids a Smile Day for 12 years. He is the recipient of numerous recognitions and honors, including the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the Dean’s Award, and the John Turner Award (Howard University College of Dentistry), the Avodah Award for community service (Washington Hebrew Congregation), the Highest Award from the District of Columbia Dental Society, the Sterling V.
